The tester is one of the most important elements in software development, because it is the tester who monitors the quality of the developed product.
Basic theoretical knowledge reinforced by practical lessons, including globally used terms that will help you understand what testing means at every moment of software development.
Developing a test strategy requires an understanding of what to consider when testing a product and how the testing process fits into different software development models.
A very important skill, not only in testing, is documentation analysis. Attention to detail and logical thinking will be useful in any sphere of life. The sooner you identify gaps in the specification, the more efficient the development process and the better the quality of the final product. However, asking a business analyst the right question to get the right answer to your question is also a skill that needs to be developed.
How quickly and thoroughly a product can be tested depends on the approaches taken to the testing process and how well and correctly the test cases are written.
It’s one thing to notice that a programme is not working properly. It’s quite another thing to be able to identify the cause of such behaviour and clearly articulate the steps needed to avoid a recurrence. The more accurately and precisely an error is described, the easier and faster it will be to correct.
Nowadays, with so many gadgets, more and more mobile program are emerging. The tester needs to understand the specifics of testing such programs.
In order to properly set up a web application testing process, a tester needs to understand what the architecture of a normal website looks like, what is hidden under the terms front-end and back-end.
Being able to find the information you need in the database will improve the quality of software testing, as not everything is always visible in the UI.
